FURMAN MEN'S TENNIS NOTCHES 6-0 WIN AGAINST DAVIDSON

GREENVILLE, S.C.-- The Furman men's tennis team moved to 11-11 overall and 5-2 in Southern Conference action when the Paladins notched a 6-0 victory against the visiting Davidson Wildcats at Mickel Tennis Center on Sunday.

Furman began by sweeping the Wildcats in doubles action. At No. 1, Furman's James Cameron and Pat Fillnow overpowered Rob Haywood and Donald Miles, 8-2. Ben Pauluhn and Andrew Rogers then posted an 8-6 victory against Jonathan Britt and Rob Gould at No. 2, while Chris Henderson and Allen Simmons held off Geoff Mullen and Bryan Stonestreet at No. 3 by an 8-5 count.

The Paladins then swept Davidson in singles action to clinch the victory. Furman's Cameron, Henderson, Rogers, Fillnow, and Ryan McCarthy all won their respective singles matches, while the B.J. James-Russ Burns flight six contest did not finish due to inclement weather.

Furman will next face the Terriers of Wofford on April 9 at 2:30 p.m. in Spartanburg.
