NO. 34 TULANE UPENDS NO. 67 FURMAN

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Tulane University cruised to a 6-1 victory over Furman University in men's tennis action on Sunday at the Hilton Rivercenter. Tulane, ranked No. 34 in the nation, has now won four of five matches, improving to 7-2 on the year.

Despite dropping the doubles point, the Green Wave swept all six singles flights to earn the victory. Tulane's No. 13 ranked doubles tandem of sophomore No. 10 Michael Kogan and No. 29 Victor Romero teamed up for a hard-fought 9-8 victory over the No. 15 pair on the nation, John Chesworth and James Cameron, at top flight doubles to remain undefeated this year.

Kogan and Romero both picked up wins in singles action as well.

Also earning singles wins were Mattias Westerberg, Jorge Lievano, Hannu Piiroinen and Goran Vasiljevic. Vasiljevic needed three sets to dispatch his foe while the others triumphed in straight sets.

Furman will play its first home match on the year as Wake Forest pays Mickel Tennis Center a visit on March 10th at 1:30 p.m.
