BOONE, N.C.-- The Furman men's tennis team downed Appalachian State 6-1 Thursday in Boone.

James Cameron paced the Paladins with a 6-4, 6-4 victory at No. 1 singles over Erez Cohen.Doug Ormsby was the lone Mountaineer to prove victorious in singles competition, winning at the second spot 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 over Chris Henderson. Robbie Ormsby was the only other Appalachian player to take a singles set. The younger Ormsby lost to Patrick Fillnow in the fourth flight 3-6, 7-6, 7-5.

Furman wins its 6th straight match to improve to 7-11 on the year, 4-0 in the Southern Conference.
