FURMAN TENNIS PROGRAMS GEAR UP FOR KEY MATCHES THIS WEEKEND

GREENVILLE, S.C.-- The Furman University tennis teams will face important tests this weekend as the 75th-ranked Lady Paladins travel to Atlanta for showdowns against Georgia State (Saturday, 1:00 p.m.) and No. 22 Georgia Tech (Sunday, 12:00 p.m.), while the men, ranked 67th, stay in Greenville for their home opener against No. 29 Wake Forest (Sunday, 1:30 p.m.).

The Lady Paladins (7-2, 0-0 SoCon) are coming off a successful road trip during which they knocked off No. 69 New Mexico, Boston College, and UC Santa Barbara while dropping a match to No. 39 South Alabama. Furman is led by senior and 75th-ranked Megan Dunigan, who is off to a 9-0 start on the season.

The Furman men's tennis team (1-10, 0-0 SoCon) will look to get back on track as the Paladins come home for the first time this season. Furman has faced arguably one of the tougher schedules in the nation as each of the Paladins' matches have been played against nationally ranked opponents away from the friendly confines of Mickel Tennis Center. Furman is led by junior John Chesworth, who has notched some key victories this season, including a straight-set victory over Georgia's No. 11 ranked Brandon Wagner.
