FURMAN MEN'S TENNIS ANNOUNCES

HIRING OF NEW ASSISTANT COACH

GREENVILLE, S.C.- Furman men's tennis head coach Paul Scarpa announced today the hiring of new assistant coach Ryan Bauer.

Bauer, a 1999 Clemson University alum, is a former No. 1 singles player for the Tigers. He was a member of the 1997 ACC Championship team at Clemson, a year during which he garnered All-ACC honors and was a conference singles flight champion.

Bauer, who plays professionally and holds an ATP Tour world ranking, has served as the head professional at the Cardinal Racket Club in Anderson, S.C. and as assistant tennis professional at the Wee Burn Country Club in Darien, Conn.

Bauer succeeds former Furman assistant coach Steve Dahm, who had worked under Scarpa since the 2000 season.
