FURMAN MEN'S TENNIS SHUTS OUT VMI

LEXINGTON, Va.-- The Furman men's tennis team (13-8, 6-0 SoCon) handily defeated Southern Conference foe VMI (8-9, 0-7 SoCon) 7-0 Sunday morning at the Patchin Field Tennis Courts. The 61st ranked Paladins dropped only 15 games en route to a sweep of the Keydets.

Patrick Gaughan, Eric Ward, and Peter Netzler were all 6-0, 6-0 winners, while the remainder of the Paladin singles players completed the shutout with straight-set victories.

In doubles, the Paladins lost only two games as John Chesworth and James Cameron won at No. 1, Andrew Rogers and Patrick Fillnow were victorious at No. 2, and Charlie Lloyd and Chris Henderson registered a victory at No. 3.

Furman's next match is Thursday, April 5 as the Chattanooga Mocs pay a visit to Mickel Tennis Center. The match is slated to begin at 2:30 p.m.
