FURMAN MEN'S TENNIS DROPS MATCHES AGAINST FLORIDA STATE, GEORGIA STATE; DEFEATS ALABAMA-BIRMINGHAM

Tallahassee, Fla.--The Furman men's tennis team dropped two of three dual matches at the Florida State Invitational in Tallahassee, Florida this weekend. After losing to the homestanding Seminoles 4-1 in the Paladins' opening match, Furman was then defeated 4-3 by Georgia State but rebounded to beat Alabama-Birmingham 4-1.

The Paladins did win the doubles point in each of their three matches. Doubles tandem Chris Henderson and Charlie Lloyd went undefeated on the weekend,winning 8-3 over Florida State, 8-6 against Georgia State, and 8-2 over Alabama-Birmingham.

Freshmen Patrick Fillnow and Andrew Rogers also enjoyed a successful weekend in doubles, sweeping Florida State, Georgia State, and Alabama-Birmingham en route to an undefeated weekend.

Furman is now 5-2 on the year, and will next participate in the Clemson Invitational on February 23-24.
