FURMAN MEN'S TENNIS SWEEPS WOFFORD, MOVES TO 2-0 IN SOUTHERN CONFERENCE PLAY

Spartanburg, S.C.- The Furman men's tennis team moved to 7-6 on the season and 2-0 in Southern Conference competition with a 7-0 win over Wofford at the John E. Reeves Tennis Center in Spartanburg.

The Paladins started the match by sweeping the Terriers in doubles play. Sophomores James Cameron and John Chesworth defeated Brad Brendle and Lee Porter 8-6 at No. 1. Freshmen Andrew Rogers and Patrick Fillnow were also victorious, defeating Wofford's Dial Burwell and Will Johnson 8-5 at No. 2. Furman's Charlie Lloyd and Chris Henderson completed the sweep at doubles with an 8-5 win over Jason Mengel and Brandon Smith at No. 3.

Furman's Cameron, Chesworth, Henderson, Lee Nickell, Patrick Gaughan, and Eric Ward were all straight-set victors in singles play.
