FURMAN'S NICKELL NAMED PLAYER-OF-THE-WEEK

GREENVILLE, SC. -- Furman's Lee Nickell was named Southern Conference player-of-the-week in men's tennis as the Paladins have now won both player-of-the-week awards this season.

Nickell, a junior from Dunwoody, Ga., is the Paladins' No. 1 singles player. Nickell posted a 2-0 record last week with wins over Georgia Tech's Sergio Aguirre (6-3, 3-6, 6-3) and Georgia Southern's Kendall Schwartz (6-2, 6-3). He also posted a 1-1 doubles record in the two matches. Nickell holds an 11-10 overall mark at No. 1 singles and has won four matches in a row. Furman is currently 14-9 on the season and 3-0 in the Southern Conference.

John Chesworth, a freshman from Burnley, England, was named SoCon player-of-the-week last week.
