FURMAN WELCOMES DAHM AS ASSISTANT

MEN'S TENNIS COACH

GREENVILLE -- Furman men's tennis coach Paul Scarpa announced the hiring of Steve Dahm as assistant men's tennis coach on Thursday.

Dahm comes to Furman after serving as an assistant coach at the University of Rochester for one season. Prior to his stint at the University of Rochester, Dahm spent three years as an instructor at the highly regarded Van der Meer Tennis Acadamy in Hilton Head, S.C., where he worked with a number of world class players.

"We are glad to have Steve with us," said Scarpa, the third winningest active coach in Division I. "He has a lot of experience teaching tennis and has worked with some great tennis players at Van der Meer's."

Dahm is a 1996 graduate of the University of Buffalo, where he played No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles for the Bulls for three seasons. Dahm grew up in Buffalo, N.Y., and graduated from Kenmore West High School in 1992.
