Schroerlucke Tapped As Player-of-the-Year; Abney, Schroerlucke Earn All-Conference

Greenville, S.C. -- Furman senior Sam Schroerlucke was named 1998 Southern Conference Player-of-the-Year Thursday at a banquet at the Green Valley Country Club in Greenville, S.C. Former Paladin standout and NFL player and coach Sam Wyche was on hand for the ceremony.

Schroerlucke was also named for the fourth consecutive year as a member of the singles and doubles all-conference teams. Joing Schroerlucke on the all-conference team was senior Adam Abney. This selection marked his fourth in doubles, but was his first singles recognition.

Abney and Schroerlucke have teamed for an 18-4 doubles record this season, while Schroerlucke is 18-5 in singles.
