SOUTHERN CONFERENCE SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT DELAYED UNTIL SATURDAY

CHATTANOOGA, TN - Due to rain throughout the Chattanooga area, the 2002 Sonic Southern Conference Softball Tournament was postponed until Saturday.

Four games were slated for Friday, but only one was played this afternoon with College of Charleston defeating Appalachian State.

At the conclusion of that game, the rains came, leading to a suspension of all games until 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Furman defeated UNC Greensboro 4-1 on Thursday and was scheduled to take on No. 2 seeded Georgia Southern of today at 7:15. The Lady Paladins will take on the Eagles on Saturday at 12:15.
