FURMAN SOFTBALL SIGNS DEASE

GREENVILLE, South Carolina -- Furman softball coach Bonnie Flynn has announced the signing of prep pitcher Tabitha Dease (Tampa, Fla.) to a national letter of intent.

A senior at H.B. Plant High School in Tampa, Fla., Dease played for the American Softball Association's Tampa Mustangs and is taking pitching lessons from Kaci Clark - a UCLA All-American and Most Valuable Player of the Women's Professional Fastpitch League.

"Tabitha is a dominant power pitcher," says Flynn. "She has great presence on the mound and is a fierce competitor. She will be a great addition to our pitching rotation for the 2003 season. Tabitha is someone that we feel will really be ready to be a contributor in her freshman year. A super young lady that will fit in fantastically with our team chemistry."
