FURMAN SWEEPS ETSU WITH A WIN ON DEDICATION DAY

Greenville, South Carolina--The Furman softball team ended the three-game series with East Tennessee State University with a win on Sunday, making the dedication of the new Pepsi Stadium an exciting one.

Furman won the final game of the three game series the same way it won yesterday, in the bottom of the seventh inning, with the game on the line. Brittain, who leads the Lady Paladins in hits(30), triples(4), homeruns(2), total bases(47), slugging percentage(.470), and batting average(.300), led Furman along with sophomore Kelli Leachman with two RBI's. Furman pitcher Chrissy Hacker(9-8) earned her second win of the weekend when she entered the game in the sixth inning in relief. ETSU's Tiffany Vandergriff pitched all three games of the series, dropping her record to 7-11.

With the win, Furman improves to 17-20 on the season, and 6-3 in the Southern Conference. ETSU drops to 8-21 overall, 4-7 in the conference. Furman will be in action again Wednesday, April 11, in a 3:00 p.m. matchup with Winthrop at Pepsi Stadium.
