FURMAN SOFTBALL DROPS ONE TO JACKSONVILLE STATE

GREEVILLE, South Carolina--The Furman Softball team was defeated by Jacksonville State in game one of the scheduled doubleheader, Saturday, by a score of 3-1. Game two of the doubleheader will be resumed in the bottom of the first inning on Sunday at noon. The game was called due to inclement weather.

The Lady Paladins staged a rally in the bottom of the seventh inning, but were unable to overcome the Gamecocks 3-0 lead. Furman's Kay Brittain reached on a walk and scored on a Chrissy Hacker single to right field to give the Lady Paladins their lone score. Two runners were left on base when Kelly Jack hit a fly ball to left field to record the final out of the game.

With the win, Jacksonville State improved to 17-7, while Furman fell to 9-14.
