HACKER NAMED TO ALL-SOUTH REGION SECOND TEAM

GREENVILLE, South Carolina -- Furman softballer Chrissy Hacker has been named to the National Softball Coaches Asssociation All South Region second team, it was announced on Wednesday.

A junior from Miami, Fla., Hacker posted a 17-11 record this season with a 0.88 earned run average and was named Southern Conference Pitcher of the Year and to the all-conference and all-tournament teams. In 206.0 innings pitched, Hacker struck out 138 and held her opponents to a .165 batting average, while pitching 22 complete games with 10 shutouts and one save.

With the honor, Hacker is automatically on the ballot for second and third team All-America, which will be decided later this month.
