FURMAN SOFTBALL SPLITS WITH UNC CHAPEL HILL

Greenville, South Carolina--The Furman softball team split a doubleheader with UNC Chapel Hill on Thursday, moving the Lady Paladin record to 14-20 on the season.

Game one of the doubleheader remained scoreless until the sixth inning when North Carolina broke out with the only three runs of the game. Tar Heel pitcher Radara McHugh earned the win improving her record to 11-4, while Furman pitcher Kelly Jack posted the loss moving her record to 4-8. With the win, the Tar Heels improved their overall record to 26-10, while Furman dropped to 13-20.

Game two was scoreless through four until North Carolina scored one run in the top of the fifth inning and Furman rallied for two runs in the bottom to win the game. Lady Paladin pitcher Chrissy Hacker claimed a complete game win, improving her record to 7-6, while North Carolina pitcher Erin Joseph earned the loss in four and a third innings pitched. With the win, Furman improved to 14-20, and North Carolina moved to 26-11.
