FURMAN SOFTBALL DROPS ONE TO GEORGIA SOUTHERN,

GAME TWO POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER

Greenville, South Carolina -- The Furman softball team lost one game to conference opponent Georgia Southern on Saturday, game two of the doubleheader was postponed due to inclement weather.

Game one of a scheduled doubleheader remained scoreless through ten innings, until the Eagles rallied for three runs in the top of the 11th inning for the win. Winning pitcher Aimee Littlejohn threw a complete game allowing six hits and walking one, while Furman's Kelly Jack posted the loss in 11 innings pitched, dropping her to 9-9 on the season. With the win, Georgia Southern improved to 25-26 overall, while Furman moved to 27-24 on the season.

Game two of the doubleheader was called due to inclement weather, Furman will face Georgia Southern again on Sunday in a doubleheader. Game four of the series will be played on Monday April 17th, at a time to be determined.
