Lady Paladin Softball splits with Elon

GREENVILLE, South Carolina -- The Furman softball team split a doubleheader with Elon College, Wednesday, by scores of 0-3 and 2-0.

Game one of doubleheader proved to be another heartbreaker for pitcher Chrissy Hacker(0-6) who threw an exceptional five hitter, only to come up with another loss. Elon scored all three of its runs in top of the third inning, two of which were unearned. Winning pitcher Gina Krueger threw a seven inning three hitter to improve her record to 1-0.

Game two of the doubleheader told a different story for the Lady Paladins. A two run home run by Erin Keen in the bottom of the first inning was all Furman needed to add a win to their record. Winning pitcher Kelly Jack threw a two hitter improving her record to 3-3. The losing pitcher from Elon College was Jessica Vanderploeg(1-1)

The Lady Paladins return to Varsity field for their next home game on March 25 against Winthrop.
