FURMAN SOFTBALL SIGNS TWO

GREENVILLE, South Carolina -- The Furman softball program has signed a pair of prep stars to National Letters of Intent, according to head coach Bonnie Flynn.

Alison McNulty is a middle infielder from Lexington, Ky., who attends Lexington Catholic High School. A four year starter, she is a three-time all-district selection and was the LCHS Offensive Player of the Year. In addition, McNulty was named Outstanding Female Athlete by the Womenıs Sports Foundation in 1998 and was selected to the Kentucky All-State Softball team. McNulty is also a four year letterwinner in volleyball.

Joining McNulty is Birmingham, Ala., product Jessica Griffin. Griffin was named Most Valuable Player of the Vestavia Hill High School team as a sophomore and will play for the Birmingham Vipers this summer. Griffin pitched in high school, but will fill a utility role for the Lady Paladins.
