DARLING, TURGEON NAMED TO SOCCER BUZZ ALL-SOUTHEAST REGION TEAM

GREENVILLE - Furman sophomore Nicky Darling and senior Emily Turgeon were selected to the Soccer Buzz All-Southeast Region third team this week.

Darling, a native of Coralville, Iowa, started all 22 of Furman's matches in 2003 while helping anchor the Lady Paladins' midfield. She tallied three assists on her way to earning first team All-Southern Conference accolades for the second straight year. Darling was a Soccer Buzz All-Southeast Region Freshman Team selection in 2002.

Turgeon led Furman in scoring with 13 goals and four assists for 30 points. Turgeon, the 2000 and 2002 Southern Conference Player-of-the-Year, earns her third Soccer Buzz All-Southeast pick of her career, as she was a second team selection in 2000 and 2002.

The Raleigh, N.C., native finished her Furman career this fall as the Lady Paladins' all-time leader in both points and goals, while finishing second in career assists. She tallied 57 goals and 34 assists over her career for 148 points.

Furman finished the season with a 15-5-2 overall record as it claimed its fifth straight Southern Conference regular season title.
