FURMAN'S ANDIE HINSHAW NAMED SOCON PLAYER-OF-THE-WEEK

GREENVILLE - Furman women's soccer goalkeeper Andie Hinshaw was named Southern Conference Women's Soccer Co-Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Hinshaw, a sophomore from Raleigh, N.C., tied a school record with 19 saves in a 0-0 tie against 24th ranked Clemson. Hinshaw recorded ten of those saves in overtime to record Furman's first shutout against the Clemson. Hinshaw also recorded a shutout against College of Charleston last week.

Hinshaw has a 1.16 goals against average on the season, while recording 81 saves and notching four shutouts.

Furman is currently 8-4-1 on the season and 5-0-1 in Southern Conference play. Furman currently owns a seven match overall unbeaten streak this season, while sporting an impressive 19 match Southern Conference unbeaten streak dating back to last season.

Hinshaw shared the honor with Chattanoogašs Brooke Crandall.

Hinshaw is the second Lady Paladin to be awarded with SoCon player of the week honors this season as Kat Kelley earned the honor on September 16. Hinshaw and Kelley are both a product of Broughton High School in Raleigh.
