FURMAN WOMEN'S SOCCER PREPARES TO BATTLE SOUTH CAROLINA

GREENVILLE, SC -- The Furman women's soccer team will host South Carolina on Tuesday night at 7:00 at Eugene Stone III Soccer Stadium.

The Lady Paladins are currently 2-2-1 on the season after tying Georgia 2-2 last Friday. Juniors Melissa Vogel and Emily Turgeon scored goals for Furman.

South Carolina enters the match 6-2 on the season after defeating North Carolina State 1-0 on Saturday. The Lady Gamecocks are currently ranked ninth in the Soccer Buzz Southeast Regional Poll.

"We are looking forward to playing South Carolina," said head coach Brian Lee. "They are a very talented team and it will be a great challege for us."

South Carolina and Furman met last season with South Carolina winning the match 3-0 in Columbia, SC. Furman is 4-2-1 against teams from the Southeastern Conference since the 2000 season.
