TRANSFER APRIL RAYMER TO JOIN FURMAN WOMEN'S SOCCER TEAM

GREENVILLE, SC -- Furman women's soccer coach Brian Lee annnounced the addition of April Raymer, a transfer from Wake Forest, to the Furman women's soccer team on Friday.

Raymer saw action in 19 matches for the Demon Deacons as a freshman last season, starting three contests. She recorded one goal and notched two assists from the midfield position. Raymer helped lead Wake Forest to a 9-9-2 record and a trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Prior to arriving at Wake Forest, Raymer was selected to the ODP National Team and Pool, was a four year member of the Region III Team and an eight year member of the Georgia State team. Raymer attended Wheeler High School in Marietta, Ga., and competed in the TopHat club program.

"I am thrilled that April has decided to attend Furman," said Furman head coach Brian Lee. "She was one of the top prep players in the nation a year ago and made a strong impact at Wake Forest as a freshman. I am excited to see what she can do to help take this program to a new level."

Raymer and fellow transfer Ashley Murray (Texas A&M) will join 10 freshman in making up Furman's imcoming class.

"With the addition of April to this class," added Lee, "I believe we have one of the top ten incoming classes in the nation." Furman is coming off a 13-7-1 campaign in which it won a share of the Southern Conference regular season championship, its third straight title.
