ANDRE'A MORRISON NAMED TO SOCCER AMERICA TEAM-OF-THE-WEEK

GREENVILLE, SC -- Furman freshman Andre'a Morrison was named to the Soccer America Team-of-the-Week and the Soccer Buzz Elite Team-of-the-Week on Wednesday after earning Southern Conference Tournament MVP honors last weekend.

Morrison, a freshman from Kernersville, N.C., led Furman with three goals and two assists in the Southern Conference Tournament as the Lady Paladins won their second SoCon Tournament title and earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament. Morrison recorded a goal and an assist in the quarterfinals vs. ETSU, netted the game-winner vs. UNCG in the semifinals, and recorded a goal and an assist in the SoCon final against College of Charleston.

Morrison becomes only the second Furman women's soccer to earn Soccer America Team-of-the-Week honors as Melissa Turner was named the weekly squad in 1999.

Furman returns to action against Tennessee in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday night at 8:00 p.m. in Knoxville, Tenn. Furman enters the contest with a 16-5-1 record and an 11-match winning streak.
