FURMAN WOMEN'S SOCCER INCOMING CLASS RANKED 12TH IN THE NATION

GREENVILLE, SC -- The Furman women's soccer incoming class was ranked as the 12th best in the nation by Soccer Buzz on Tuesday.

The ranking is the highest ever for an incoming class in Furman women's soccer history. The Lady Paladins placed third in the Southeast region behind North Carolina and Duke. For the second year in a row, Furman has the highest rated class in the state of South Carolina.

Furman's class features ten freshman, including six members of the Region II and III Olympic Development Program (ODP) Teams and Pools.Furman also welcomes two transfers, Ashley Murray from Texas A&M and April Raymer from Wake Forest.

Joining the three-time defending Southern Conference regular season champions as freshmen are Nicky Darling of Coralville, Iowa, Christy Dupin, of La Grange, Ky., Lauren Dyches, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Julie Einstein, of Greenville, S.C., Andie Hinshaw of Raleigh, N.C., Katharine Kelley of Raleigh, N.C., Tara Marker of South Kaufman, Texas, Andrea Morrison of Kernersville, N.C., Erin Sanders of Charlotte, N.C., and Stacy Simpson of Columbia, S.C.

"I have high expectations for this season and for these incoming student-athletes," said Furman head coach Brian Lee. "I believe we have one of the nation's best recruiting classes and I am excited to see what they will add to this program."

The Furman women's soccer team reports to campus on August 12 and will open the season at the College of Charleston Tournament August 30 and September 1.
