FURMAN WOMENıS SOCCER TO FACE DAVIDSON

GREENVILLE -- The Furman women's soccer team travels to face Davidson in a key Southern Conference showdown on Wednesday at 7:00 with a chance to clinch at least a share of the SoCon regular season title.

Furman enters the match with an 9-5-1 overall record and the Lady Paladins sit alone atop the SoCon standings with a 7-0 league mark. Davidson is currently in second place in the Southern Conference with a 4-1-1 mark and is 6-7-1 overall.

With a win, Furman secures the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament and at least a share of the regular season title.

"This is a another key match in this yearıs Southern Conference race," said Furman head coach Brian Lee. "This is the fourth straight match that we have played a team that was in second place in the conference. I expect a strong performance from a talented Davidson squad on Wednesday"

Furman's Emily Turgeon leads the Southern Conference in scoring with 12 goals and 6assists on the year. Heather Maloney leads Davidson with seven goals and two assists on the year.

Furman leads the all-time series with Davidson 10-3-2 and has won each of the last six meetings between the two schools.
