FURMAN TO HOST SOUTHERN CONFERENCE OPENER AGAINST APPALACHIAN STATE

GREENVILLE, SC -- The Furman women's soccer team will host its Southern Conference opener Friday night against Appalachian State.

The Lady Paladins are currently 2-3-1 and are coming off a 3-1 loss to South Carolina on Tuesday night. Junior Emily Turgeon scored her fifth goal of the season at the 76:10 mark.

"It is very exciting to begin our conference schedule," said head coach Brian Lee. "We have set high goals for this team, and one of those is a conference championship. We are looking forward to getting started on Friday night."

Furman is looking to avenge a 1-0 loss last year to Appalachian State at Kidd Brewer Stadium. The Lady Paladins hold an 8-1-1 record in the last ten matches with the Mountaineers.
