SC -- Furman junior Emily Turgeon was selected to the Soccer Buzz All-Southeast
Region Second Team on Wednesday, while freshman Nicky Darling earned a spot
on the All-Southeast Region Freshman Team.
Turgeon led Furman and the Southern Conference in scoring in 2002 with 16 goals and eight assists for 40 points. Turgeon, the 2000 and 2002 Southern Conference Player-of-the-Year, was also selected to the second team NSCAA All-Southeast team last season.
Darling started 20 of 22 matches for Furman at midfield where she scored six goals and recorded two assists on the season. She was also a first team All-Southern Conference selection.
Furman finished the season with a 16-6-1 overall record as it claimed its fourth straight Southern Conference regular season title, its second SoCon Tournament title, and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the third time in four seasons.
