Coach Brian Lee on Nicky: "Nicky is a multi-faceted player who could fit in at any number of postions for us. We expect her to make an immediate impact in our defense, midfield, or possibly up top. She has spent a lot of time at the back with Region II and the Canadian U-19's, but may well play more of an attacking role with us next fall."


Christy Dupin

Coach Brain Lee on Chrisy: "Christy joins us from the same area that produced graduating four year starter Melissa Barnes. Her coaches feel she is at the same level and has a higher ceiling because of her natural athleticism. If everyone stays healthy, we should have the best goalkeeping corp in the history of our program."


Julie Einstein

Coach Brian Lee on Andie: "Goalkeeper was and is our top recruiting priority and we rated Andie as the top goalkeeper prospect in the country. 'Big players make big plays in big games' is a popular phrase around sports teams today and that is what we felt separates Andie from some of the other top keepers in the region and country. She is a powerful physical presence and we are very excited about her joining the program."


Katharine Kelley

High School/Club: All-state and all-conference performer at Broughton as she led team to 2001 state championship...Voted Hale High School's most outstanding female athlete in 2000...Voted conference player of the year twice...Plays club soccer for the Spartans...Won four state cups...Voted most valuable player of the varsity basketball team as a freshman...A member of the National Honor Society and Who's Who Among American High School Students.

Coach Brian Lee on Tara: "Since ESP late last summer Tara has been a top recruiting target for us. She will add a needed physical presensce to our team. We are excited about the possibility of her as a playmaking center back, but also think she may fit in up front. Has great maturity for an early graduate and we think she will excel in the college environment."

High School/Club: An all-state, all-region, and all-conference performer as a junior as she led Providence Senior High to the AAAA State Championshp match and a final national ranking of sixth by the NSCAA...A Coca-Cola scholar athlete her freshman and sophomore years...Plays for the Charlotte Soccer Club that won the 2000 and 2001 state championships...A Region III semifinalist in 2001 with a final ranking of 15th in the nation...A member of the 2001 Region III Pool and a North Carolina State Team member for four years...Attended the Adidas ESP Camp in 2001...a member of the National Honor Society and a Junior Marshall.

Coach Brian Lee on Erin: "Absolutely my kind of player. Combines great defensive toughness with a crafty attacking game full of quick combination play. Great at getting out of tight spaces. We expect her to be in the mix in the middle of midfield, but like many of her incoming classmates, we feel she can be comfortable anywhere on the field."


Stacy Simpson

High School/Club: 4A Player-of-the-Year her junior season as she led RNE to a 23-4-1 record and the state championship...Named Gatorade South Carolina Player-of-the-Year in her senior season...Selected to all-state team her sophomore and junior seasons and voted her teams Best Overall Player both years...A three time all-area and all-region selection...Member of the Region III Pool...Helped her GFC U-18 club team to a third place finish at nationals after claiming both state and region championships...A member of the South Carolina ODP State Team for six years...A member of the National Honor Society and the Latin Club Vice President.

Personal: Stacy Lynn Simpson was born May 20, 1984 in Dallas, Texas...Daughter of Ronald and Robin Simpson...Father played basketball and golf at King college...Intends to study biology.

Coach Brian Lee on Stacy: "Stacy is the consensus top senior in South Carolina. She is a hard nosed, determined player who will add toughness to our back line. South Carolina is fast improving as a soccer state and it is a priority for us to continue to bring the top Palmetto state players to Furman."
