New Mexico cut the score to 4-2 at the 83:47 mark on a Erchen Theys goal.

"We came out and played a lot better in the second half," said Furman head coach Brian Lee. "Our intensity needs to be 100% for ninety minutes though, if we hope to defeat Arizona State on Sunday."

Furman improves to 6-2 on the year, while New Mexico falls to 0-6-1.

The Lady Paladins will take on Arizona State Sunday at 11 a.m. in the final day of the Traditional Bank Invitational.
