TRANSFER ASHLEY MURRAY TO JOIN FURMAN WOMENıS SOCCER TEAM

GREENVILLE, SC -- Furman women's soccer coach Brian Lee annnounced the addition of Ashley Murray, a transfer from Texas A&M, to the Furman women's soccer team on Thursday.

Murray played ten matches at midfield for Texas A&M before tearing her ACL. Murray has already completed one semester at Furman and will join the Lady Paladins with sophomore eligibility.

Murray was an all-region selection for four years in high school at Charlotte Christian and holds the school record for career goals and career assists. Murray also captured two North Carolina state championships as a member of the Charlotte Soccer Club. She was also a four-time all-stae cross country runner.

"Ashley is going to be a great addition to this team," said head coach Brian Lee. "She is joining a group of talented young players that we are expecting to play a big role in upcoming seasons."

Murray joins a Lady Paladin team that finished the 2001 season 13-7-1 and won a share of its third consecutive Southern Conference regular season championship.
