FURMAN WOMEN'S SOCCER SET FOR SOUTHERN CONFERENCE WEEKEND

GREENVILLE, SC -- The Furman women's soccer team opens its Southern Conference schedule this weekend with matches against rival Davidson and UNC Greensboro.

The Lady Paladins are currently 3-2 and are ranked seventh in the Southeast regional poll by the NSCAA. Furman is coming off a loss to South Carolina on Monday.

"Davidson and UNC Greensboro are always tough matches," said head coach Brian Lee. "But if we do well this weekend, it will set the stage for what wešre capable of doing this season in the conference."

Furman will put an 18-match Southern Conference regular season winning streak on the line this weekend as the Lady Paladins have finished each of the last two seasons 9-0 in league play.

The Lady Paladins have won the last five matches against Davidson and are looking to avenge last seaso's 1-0 loss to UNC Greensboro in the the Southern Conference tournament final. Furman has won two of the last three matches against UNCG. Furman will take on Davidson Friday night at 7:00 at Eugene Stone III Soccer Stadium and will host UNC-Greensboro on Sunday afternoon at 3:00.
