ENTRY #7

One word for the day: EMINEM!

We woke up a little later than usual. We had breakfast and met to go to the Tube station. It was very busy and took a while to get tickets to ride. Kev was on his phone trying to get tickets to shows for Friday night. We all got on the tube just fine. When we got off, there was a bit of drama because we had only bought tickets for one journey (and not back).

Everyone went there own ways shopping. Kathy Gaertner tells of her shopping experience with long-time roommate, Michelle Muro: "she couldn't make a decision to save her life. She even had a hard time deciding which chocolate ice cream to get at Ben & Jerry's." We all had lunch on our own. We met back at the hotel. An hour later we left for our two and a half hour drive to play Southampton.

It was a pitiful start but we finally picked it up after ten minutes. Melissa Vogel "thought it was a good game. We played well but one girl on the other team was swearing at me the whole time." It was pretty dark when we finished up. The geese almost flew into the other team when they were cooling down. Allie Park, unfortunately, experienced somewhat of a dead leg from a charlie horse.

We met back at the clubhouse to have lasagna for dinner. The freshmen enjoyed themselves on the bus on the ride home. Just ask Cristina Echavarry or Alice Martin. Other fun games on the bus include tossing grapes to Katie Carson's mouth (she caught one from half the length of the bus) and asking questions "would you rather...?"

When we got back, Kaye Brownlee, Melissa Barnes, Lauren Killey, Natalie Muro, and I went for a walk. We decided to venture into the neighboring Landmark Hotel. It was huge. It took up a whole block. There were shops on the second floor. All of the rooms opened up onto the center of the hotel with balconies. As we were walking out, Natalie jokingly told Barnes to follow Eminem (the rapper) out the door. But, it was really him. His huge bodyguard wouldn't let us take a picture. Natalie says, "It was hip-hop first hand. I just hope he writes the next song about the five of us." We were all surprised by how short he was. Will the real Slim Shady please stand up?
