FURMAN WOMEN'S SOCCER TOPS CHATTANOOGA 4-1

CHATTANOOGA, TENN -- Melissa Turner recorded her second hat trick of the season to propel the 19th ranked Furman womenıs soccer team to a 4-1 win over conference foe Chattanooga on Friday.

After falling behind 1-0 in the match's opening minutes, freshman Emily Turgeon evened the score at the 31:52 mark. Turgeon went on to assist Melissa Turner on two of her next three goals to give Furman the 4-1 win.

With the hat trick, Turner breaks the Furman single season goal record as she has scored 15 goals in 12 matches this season. Turner breaks the mark of 13 goals set by herself and Kaye Brownlee last season.

Furman improves to 11-1 on the season and will face Western Carolina Sunday at 4 p.m. in Cullowhee, N.C.
