FOUR PALADINS RANK IN NATIONAL STATISTICS

GREENVILLE, SC -- Furman men's soccer players Daniel Alvarez and Scott Blount, along with women's soccer players Kaye Brownlee and Katie Carson, are among the NCAA Division I national statistical leaders.

Senior midfielder Daniel Alvarez is 8th in the nation in assists per match with eight assists in the first 11 matches of the season. Last week, Alvarez tied the Furman all-time career assist mark with his 33rd career assist. Alvarez tied a 12-year record held by Jeff Jones (1984-87). Sophomore goalkeeper Scott Blount is 16th in the country with a 0.67 goals against average.

For the Lady Paladins, Kaye Brownlee and Katie Carson both rank in the nation's top ten in assists per match.

In team statistics, the Furman men rank 17th in both scoring and team defense and are 11th in winning percentage. The women's team places ninth in scoring and have the tenth best winning percentage in the nation.
