FURMAN'S ALVAREZ, BLOUNT, ANUCINSKI RANK IN NATIONAL STATISTICS

GREENVILLE, SC -- Furman men's soccer players Daniel Alvarez and Scott Blount, along with women's soccer player Jessi Anucinski, are among the NCAA Division I national statistical leaders.

Senior midfielder Daniel Alvarez is 5th in the nation in assists per match with six assists in his first seven matches. Alvarez, who now has 31 career assists, is only two assists shy of Furman's all-time record of 33, set by Jeff Jones in 1987. Sophomore Scott Blount's goals against average of 0.67 places him 19th in the nation.

Freshman Jessi Anucinski, Furman's back-up goalkeeper, was thrust into the Furman lineup just prior to Furman's match with Richmond and has performed remarkably in seven matches, allowing only four goals. Her goals against average of 0.54 places her 17th in the country.

In team statistics, the Furman men rank sixth in the nation in winning percentage and 17th in team defense. The women's team ranks sixth in winning percentage and 16th in team defense.
