Women's Soccer Signs Two for '99 Class

GREENVILLE, SC -- Furman head women's soccer coach Brian Lee announced the signing of Andrea Brown and Jessica Anucinski to national letters-of-intend on Thursday.

"I am thrilled to welcome two more fine student-athletes to our program," said Lee. "I expect both of them, along with the rest of our freshman class to make invaluable contributions to the program over the next four years."

Andrea Brown is a midfielder from Germantown, Tennessee. Brown is no stranger to winning ways, as she helped guide Houston High to the Tennessee State Championship and a #5 NSCAA national ranking this season. Brown was selected to both the Tennessee All-State Team and the Tennessee All-Tournament Team. She is a member of the Memphis Futbol Club and helped guide them to the Tennessee State Championship.

Jessica Anucinski is a goalkeeper from Naples, Florida. She is a product of Naples High where she was named team MVP as a senior and earned the Outstanding Player Award three times. She is a member of the Margate Blitz club team and the Florida Olympic Development Program (ODP) State Team.

Brown and Anucinski join Kristen Brexel and Katie Carson as signed recruits for 1999. With ten starters and seven all-conference selections returning, Furman looks to be one of the early favorites to challenge for the Southern Conference title in 1999. Furman is coming off a 13-8 season in which they finished second in both the Southern Conference Tournament and the regular season.
