Furman To Host SoCon Soccer Doubleheader

GREENVILLE, SC -- The Furman men's and women's soccer teams will host in-state rivals on Tuesday in the first round of the Southern Conference Men's and Women's Soccer Tournament at Eugene Stone Soccer Stadium.

The Furman women's team, seeded second with an 11-7 overall record and a 7-1 SoCon mark will host seventh seeded College of Charleston, 6-11 overall, 3-5 SoCon at 5:30 p.m. The winner will advance to the semifinals to be held at Furman at 7:00 this Saturday.

The 14th ranked Furman men's team, the conference's top seed with a 14-3-2 overall record and a 7-1 SoCon mark will host Wofford, 2-16-2 overall, 1-6-1 SoCon at 7:30 p.m. The winner advances to the semifinals to be held at Davidson at 11:30 a.m. this Saturday.

Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students and children under 12. One ticket gains access to both matches.

Furman will host the semifinals and finals of the women's soccer tournament this weekend. Semifinal matches are slated for 5 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, while the Southern Conference Championship match is slated for 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 8. The winner of the Southern Conference women's soccer tournament earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Davidson will host the semifinals and finals of the men's soccer tournament this weekend. Semifinal matches are slated for 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, while the Southern Conference Championship match is slated for 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 8. The winner of the Southern Confernce men's soccer tournament plays the winner of the Big South in an NCAA play-in match.
