McNutt, Sutton Ranked In Southeast Region

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Lady Paladin striker Melissa Sutton and goalkeeper Jen McNutt are ranked in the latest Southeast Region soccer rankings.

Melissa Sutton has notched six assists on the year, placing her ninth in the Southeast Region. In only a season and a half of play, Sutton now ranks as the Lady Paladins all-time leading scorer with 15 goals and 15 assists in her career.

McNutt, a junior from Pleasanton, Calif., has recorded 64 saves on the year and is ranked seventh in the region. Her Goals Against Average of 1.00 places McNutt fourth, while her five shutouts are second-best in the South Region.

"Jen has played well this season," Furman head coach Brian Lee said. "She nailed down two more shutouts last week and really does a great job keeping us in close matches. It is also nice to see Melissa getting on track. It is incredible what she has been able to accomplish in a short period of time at Furman."

Furman is also ranked seventh in the region in average home attendance with 370 spectators a game. The Lady Paladins are coming off a 1-0 victory over UNC Wilmington last Friday and are 7-4-1 overall, 1-1 in the Southern Conference. Furman travels to Charleston, S.C. Wednesday to face College of Charleston at 7:00 p.m.
