GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Wofford women's soccer team kept the second half scoreless as the Terriers defeated Furman 2-1 Monday in the continuation of a September 10 match at Eugene Stone Soccer Stadium.
Furman entered the day trailing the Lady Terriers 2-1 and were unable to mount a comeback on Monday. Furman outshot Wofford 5-3 in the second half.
Amy Jacobe opened the scoring for Wofford on September 10 with an unassisted goal at the 3:23 mark. Furman's Melissa Sutton evened the score with a nice shot in the upper corner of the goal from Liz Bielefeld. Wofford was able to claim the 2-1 half-time lead 25 seconds before the game was postponed with a Laura Wile goal.
With the loss Furman drops to 9-5-1, 1-2 in the Southern Conference, while Wofford improves to 6-6-2, 2-2 in the Southern Conference. The Lady Paladins travel to Stateboro, Ga. to face conference rival Georgia Southern Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
