FURMAN MEN'S SOCCER ADDS TWO TRANSFERS

Greenville, S.C. -- Furman men's soccer coach Doug Allison announced the addition of two transfers on Friday. Kevin Norman will be joining the Furman program after a year at St. John's while Ryan Nesbitt transfers from Anderson College.

Norman , a native of Diego, Trinidad, logged 209 minutes of action as a midfielder and defender in nine matches for the Red Storm in 2002 before suffering a season ending injury . Norman is the second player in this incoming class to transfer from St. John's, as Mark Futrell committed to Furman in the winter.

A native of Pembroke, Bermuda, Nesbitt played in and started 18 matches for the Trojans in 2002. The forward tallied six goals, two assists and 14 points a year ago. Both Nesbitt and Norman will enter Furman with sophomore eligibility.

"We are excited to add these two talented transfers," said Furman head coach Doug Allison. "These two excellent student-athletes should round out this incoming recruiting class well."

Furman , ranked ninth in the nation by College Soccer News, opens its season on August 29, when it battles preseason top-ranked Maryland in the Diadora Challenge at Creighton University. The Paladins open their home schedule versus South Florida on September 5, in the Diadora/Spinx Furman Invitational.

The Paladins have qualified for the NCAA Tournament each of the past four seasons. Furman currently owns an NCAA record 43-match Southern Conference unbeaten streak as it has won the last four Southern Conference titles.
