DEMPSEY, CRONIN EARN ALL-SOUTH HONORS

GREENVILLE -- Furman senior McNeil Cronin and junior Clint Dempsey were chosen to the NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America) All-South region team this week.

Clint Dempsey, a junior from Nacogdoches, Texas, was selected to the second team, while McNeil Cronin, a senior from Winston-Salem, N.C., was a third team pick.

Clint Dempsey was second on the team in scoring with a seven goals and five assists for 19 points. This is Dempsey's second all-south region citation a he was a first team choice a year ago. Dempsey was also a first team All Southern Conference performer this season.

McNeil Cronin served as one of Furman's two captains each of the last two seasons as he started all 19 matches this year, recording three assists. Cronin earns his third all-region selection as he was a third team pick in both 2000 and 2002. Cronin finished his career with three goals and 20 assists for 26 points. Cronin was also a first team All Southern Conference performer this season.
