14TH RANKED FURMAN MEN'S SOCCER BLANKS UNCA 2-0

GREENVILLE -- The 14th ranked Furman men's soccer team shutout UNC Asheville 2-0 Wednesday night at Eugene Stone Soccer Stadium.

After a scoreless first half, Furman freshman Drew Moor notched his first career goal at the 59:20 mark to put Furman ahead 1-0. After a UNCA handball ten yards outside the box, Furman's Shaun Stone sent a quick restart to Sergei Raad down the left sideline. Raad crossed to the right side of the box to Moor, who finished the play.

Six minutes later, senior Anthony Esquivel scored his team leading seventh goal of the season as he took an Andy Kidd cross and put the Paladins on top 2-0.

Furman outshot UNCA 12-8 on the night, while UNCA attempted seven corner kicks to Furman's five.

"We were a little sloppy at times," said Furman head coach Doug Allison. "But a win is a win and UNCA was a tough team to play tonight. They are a talented squad and it was good to get a shutout."
