FURMAN TO HOST SPINX/LAND ROVER FURMAN INVITATIONAL THIS WEEKEND

GREENVILLE, SC -- The tenth ranked Furman men's soccer team will host the Spinx/Land Rover Furman Invitational this weekend, as No. 19 Creighton, No. 23 Kentucky, and Butler will visit Eugene Stone III Soccer Stadium.

Furman is currently 1-0 on the season after defeating The Citadel 3-0. Junior Scott Hoch tallied two goals for the Paladins, and was named Southern Conference Player-of-the-Week. Creighton is 1-0-1 after defeating Oakland and tying Notre Dame. Kentucky's record is 1-1 as they lost to Virginia and defeated Maryland. Butler is split its first two games, losing to Clemson and defeating Rutgers.

"We have four top-twenty caliber teams in this field," said Furman head coach Doug Allison. "I am looking forward to seeing our guys tested against quality opponents like Butler and Creighton."

The tournament will begin Friday evening at 5:00 with Creighton vs. Kentucky, followed by Furman vs. Butler at 7:30. On Sunday, Butler will play Kentucky at 12:00 and Furman will host Creighton at 2:30.
