#10 FURMAN MEN'S SOCCER TRAVELS TO FACE #14 ST. LOUIS

GREENVILLE, SC -- The tenth ranked Furman men's soccer team will travel to St. Louis on Saturday to take on the fourteenth ranked Billikens at Robert R. Hermann Stadium.

Furman, now 8-1-1 on the season, 4-0 in conference play, is coming off a 3-2 double overtime Southern Conference victory over Appalachian State on Wednesday night. Anthony Esquivel converted a penalty kick with 3:32 remaining in the second overtime period to give Furman the victory, extending its conference unbeaten streak to 37 games.

The Paladins are led this season by freshman Chefik Simo (4g, 7a), senior Anthony Esquivel (6g, 2a), and junior Scott Hoch (6g, 1a). Esquivel has scored at least one goal in four of the last five matches, and has four game-winning goals on the season.

St. Louis enters the match with a 6-2-1 record. The Billikens defeated Eastern Illinois 4-0 on Wednesday night. With the win, St. Louis extends its current winning streak to six games, and its home unbeaten streak to 20 games.

The Billikens are led by Jason Cole (6g, 2a), Jack Jewsbury (2g, 3a), and Nick Walls (3g). St. Louis' starting goalkeeper Martin Hutton owns a 0.66 goals against average, and has recorded 3.5 shutouts.

The match is scheduled to kickoff at 7 p.m.CT. While the game will not be broadcasted via LIVE Stats, scoring updates will be posted throughout the game.
