FURMAN RISES TO SEVENTH IN NATIONAL RANKINGS

GREENVILLE, SC -- The Furman men's soccer team improved three spots to seventh in the nation in the latest Soccer America national poll released on Monday.

Furman is also ranked 13th in the NSCAA poll and ninth in the College Soccer News poll. The Paladins are ranked third in the NSCAA South Region poll. Furman's ranking of seventh in the highest ranking of the season for the Paladins.

Furman extended its consecutive shutout streak to six matches and 598 total minutes last week, both of which are Furman records. The Paladins have not allowed a goal since October 6. Furman downed SoCon foes Georgia Southern 1-0 and VMI 2-0 in matches last week. With those two wins, Furman also secured its fifth straight SoCon regular season title and its 12th in the last 13 years.

Furman will try to extend its 40-match Southern Conference unbeaten streak when it hosts Davidson on Sunday at 3:00. Davidson is ranked tenth in the NSCAA South Region poll.

The Paladins are 14-2-1 on the year, 7-0 in the Southern Conference.
