FURMAN IMPROVES TO 12TH IN LATEST SOCCER AMERICA POLL

GREENVILLE, SC -- The Furman men's soccer team improved one spot to 12th in the latest Soccer America national poll released on Monday.

The Paladins are also ranked 11th in the College Soccer News poll and 24th in the NSCAA poll.

Furman defeated Southern Conference rival UNCG 4-3 in overtime behind a game-winning goal by Anthony Esquivel. The Paladins extended its SoCon unbeaten streak to 35 matches, tying the league mark set from 1977-1982 by Appalachian State.

Furman will try to set the SoCon mark Tuesday at Wofford and will return to action this weekend in the Clemson Nike Soccer Invitational with matches against Fairfield and Gonzaga.

The Paladins are 4-1-1 on the year, 2-0 in the Southern Conference.
