FURMAN'S HOCH NAMED TO NATIONAL TEAMS OF THE WEEK

GREENVILLE, SC -- Furman junior Scott Hoch was named to both the Soccer America and College Soccer News Teams-of-the-Week for September11.

Hoch, a forward from Lakeland, Fla., led the Paladins to two weekend victories and the championship of the LandRover/Spinx Furman Invitational. He tallied two goals in Fridays night's victory against Butler 4-0, and scored the go-ahead goal in Sunday afternoon's win over No. 19 Creighton.

Hoch currently leads the Southern Conference with five goals and ten points, and was named the SoCon Player-of-the-Week for September 3. Hoch has scored at least one goal in each of Furmanšs three matches.

Hoch has also been ranked nationally for his scoring ability. He is currently tied for third in the nation with five goals, and is tied for fourth in the nation with ten points.

Furman returns to action this weekend as it travels to South Bend, Indiana to participate in the Notre Dame Tournament. The Paladins will face Bradley on Friday night, and meet No. 14 Notre Dame on Sunday afternoon.
