SCOTT HOCH NAMED SOCON PLAYER-OF-THE-WEEK

GREENVILLE, SC -- Junior Scott Hoch was named the Southern Conference Player-of-the-Week for November 12. Hoch was also named to the College Soccer News National Team-of-the-Week.

Hoch, a forward from Lakeland, Fla., led Furman to a 3-0 victory over Southern Conference foe Davidson on Sunday. Hoch scored Furman's first two goals in a ten minute span, helping the seventh ranked Paladins to a 8-0 record in the Southern Conference, and extending Furman's conference unbeaten streak to 41 matches, one shy of the national record held by Clemson from 1972-1980.

"Scott has played great for us all season," said head coach Doug Allison. "He scored two big goals in a big game, and I am glad to see him receive this honor."

Hoch is currently second on the team with eight goals and one assist for 17 total points. Hoch was named SoCon Player-of-the-Week the first week of the season as he tallied Furman's first two goals against The Citadel in the first match on the season.

Furman returns to action on Thursday as it meets Wofford in the first round of the Southern Conference Tournament at 4:30 p.m. in Charleston, SC.
